Teachings of the WindI wander this world
Only to be guided by the whispers of the wind
Its voice, carried over the breeze, speaks to me
It tells me this world is unique
That this world is special
That this world should be respected

The whispers lead me over the great beyond
Past the canyons carved by great rivers
Through the red wood forests
Under the grand falls
It tells me to listen
Listen to the sounds of Mother Earth

Together we travel through the light and the dark
Through shadows and sunlight
Into the morning and through the evening
While the whispers teach me
I listen carefully
I listen to the whispers of the wind

I learn of Mother Earth

With precision I chart the course
Striking so delicately against the smooth sheet before me
Line after line, my dream coming to reality

I cross them off, white them out, and renew my thought again
It takes more than that to stop who I am

So gently, so purposefully, for there is something I know

If I Conquered The WorldMy childhood dream was one of conquest
With my stuffed animals and toys, I would travel west
Pass the ocean to my first stop
They call it New York City, but I’ll name it Gumdrop

We’ll fly on in with our yellow paper planes
Then drop popsicles and very large candy canes
Mr. Teddington Brown will the charge onto land
While I fly up high, watching my wonderful plan

Toy soldiers and Barbies will march on by
They’ll color the Empire State Building blue like the sky
Tanks will shoot chocolate on the citizens and streets
Guns will fire confetti, whipped cream, assorted sweets

Then we’ll move on, pass my new terri

Internal StruggleAppearances can deceive the intellectual and elect
So I use mine as a shield to hide the scars of love’s neglect
My smile as a mask, my demeanor like armor, both used well
They blind those who try to inquire whether my life is a living hell

The hell I live, this life of woe
The one that was made rotten by friends turned foes
The lies they spread, the love they faked
Both equally caused my heart to break

I cast myself away from emotions and cares
They cause me pain, so them I no longer bare
All is for preparation; all is for one final task
The rejection of life itself and peace forever at last
